Amphico has been awarded second prize at the inaugural Kering Generation Award X Japan, recognising the company’s innovation in PFAS-free breathable waterproof textile technology. The award highlights emerging solutions that address some of the fashion industry’s most pressing environmental challenges.
Amphico’s technology replaces harmful fluorinated chemistry with a new approach to high-performance textiles. In addition, the company’s dyeing system was recognised for its ability to significantly reduce the environmental impact of traditional textile dyeing. Using just six threads and a proprietary algorithm, the system can produce thousand of colours, reducing the need for resource-intensive dyeing processes.
The award underscores growing recognition across the fashion and materials industries of the need for safer, lower-impact textile technologies.
